Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event is a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! Not only that… on this post you get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online until Sunday, October 9th!

And don’t forget to scroll all the way to the end of this post… besides the big contest, you have a chance to win one of three signed copies of THE SECRET SIDE OF EMPTY right here on this post.

This post in a nutshell:

1). Read how it works in “Scavenger Hunt Puzzle” below. If you’re a veteran, skip ahead!

2). Read about the author I’m hosting and the top-secret bonus material she’s sharing with you.

3). Copy down my favorite number (in PURPLE somewhere on this post).

4). Enter to win a signed copy of THE SECRET SIDE OF EMPTY right at the end of this page.

5). Go to the next stop on this hunt (link at the end of this post).

6). Add up all the numbers on PURPLE TEAM and enter to win by clicking here.

Want more details on how it all works? Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page. There are a bunch of contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the  PURPLE TEAM  –but there is a gold team, an orange team, a red team (you get the picture)… enter them all for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books! It takes a few minutes to enter all of them so go ahead and increase your chances of winning.

Directions: Below, you’ll notice that I’ve listed my favorite number. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the  PURPLE TEAM , and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!).
Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify
Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by October 9th at Noon Pacific.

I am hosting Hannah Rials on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!

Hannah is a Maryville native and current college student at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She began writing her first novel at age twelve. Eight years later, the result is her new YA novel Ascension; a modern day teenage romance filled with “double-blooded” vampires and revenge-seeking witches. Sounds awesome, right?

Explore her very cool author website by clicking here or jump right into the thick of things and check out her book: click here

ascensionThis is my third YASH, but this is my first time hosting an author that offers a Spotify playlist as her exclusive content. Which is SO cool. Playlists bring books to life in a unique and wonderful way.

But first, about ASCENSION: Steeped in the mystery, intrigue and rich history of New Orleans and the secretive world of the Deuxsang, teen vampire, Cheyenne, and her forbidden love, Eli, embark on a very different, and vastly more dangerous, journey as the net of betrayal tightens around them. This intense and fresh novel is enchanting, engrossing and impossible to put down right up to the cliffhanger ending. Remember, the end is not the end.

Hannah’s Spotify list is worth checking out. Click here.

If you have any trouble with the link, or opening up Spotify, the playlist is at the bottom of this post as well.

Don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of signed books by me, Hannah Rials, and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 7 (SEVEN!! Lucky number!). Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the PURPLE TEAM and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!

To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the next author! That’s Julia Ember .  You can find her by clicking here. In case of trouble with the link, you can also cut and paste her URL into your browser:
