Four years ago today I was in DC preparing for the Four years ago today I was in DC preparing for the Women’s March on the 21st. Don’t let the smile fool you... I was heartbroken and so scared. I had no idea how we’d make it through four years of division, racism, lies, nationalism and more. And in many ways my imagination failed to foresee some of the worst, like the pandemic. But today I take a breath and thank the luck and privilege that lets me note I did make it through. Too many of us didn’t, and I’ll be working through the remnants of what these four years did to us all for a while, maybe for the rest of my days. But, dammit, we made it through to the other side. Lots of work to do starting tomorrow. But tonight, a moment of thanks and relief. #inauguration
