So… I can’t use my book’s title. The title which has been its title since the book started as a glimmer of an idea. The only title I’m SURE is its title. The same title I’ve been Googling since 2007 to make sure it is available. (It was, until about a month ago).
IT IS TAKEN.
Oh, the agony.
I am working through my bitterness at the author who got the jump on me and looking to see the possibilities. However, faithful reader, I do not cope with disappointment well. I want what I want when I want it and… well, I feel a little like the little girl in this picture (above) looks.
We already have a couple of good ideas, one which includes a double entendre on the main character’s name and is deeper than my original choice. But still. Trying to get used to the idea.
I am sure that once I am ready to unveil the title (pending publisher approval) I will have fallen in love with what will ultimately become the title of my first novel. The first of many, I hope. But… well, let me pout for a little while.
