In My Garden, Writing

Iris season is in full swing and I couldn’t be happier.  Every morning I can’t wait to rush outside to see what new variety is blooming.  This morning I was particularly delighted to find my Revere in bloom.  Absolutely luminescent with their white tops (“standards”) and their heavenly blue/purple (which I’m noticing photographs a lot more on the purple side than it looks in real life), the flowers grow to a tall 40 inches.  These guys are a great example of why I work hard at fertilizing and placing them in the right spots and wait all year to watch these flowers bloom for just a few weeks.  They are so stunning , they’re worth it.
